Фильм документальный, о моем поколении, о перестройке и развале Союза. Хотелось об этом рассказать не растиражированными словами горбачевых etc. и не парфеновскими комиксами, а так, как это было принято на советских кухнях - открыто, больно и смешно. Рассказывают люди, которых объединяет одно очень странное место, - его можно было вполне считать мини-моделью СССР: "Артек". Точнее - это последняя, августа 91-го, советская смена "Артека" - люди из Грузии, России, Украины, Молдовы, Литвы, Казахстана. Фильм так и называется - "Последняя Смена".
Если продюсеры нам не врут, будет кинопрокат в Украине (что будет, кажется, прецедентом для Украины - отечественные документалки, насколько я помню, у нас в прокате не шли ) и Германии. ТВ показ будет в после проката, скорее всего, в сентябре - на 5-м канале и 1-м Национальном. На DVD тоже обещают выпустить к концу лета.

Synopsis:
The television documentary entitled The Last Shift is a portrait of the post-Soviet generation in their mid-twenties. They are entering the most active phase of public life. In the near future this generation will determine the development of post-Soviet states. Their childhood and youth saw perestroika and the end of the Soviet era. These people were raised in USSR but matured in other countries with a different set of values, ideology and political systems. The most interesting sample of this generation are people who spent their childhood in the best place the USSR could offer, the Artek pioneer camp, but then returned to completely different countries. The heroes of this film are Artek children of the last Soviet shift in August 1991 from various former Soviet republics.
The location is modern Artek. The heroes are young 25-30 y. o. people from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine who go back 15 years in time. They relive their childhood and youth. At times comically, at times tragically but always truthfully they tell of pioneers and Soviet ideology, perestroika, the coup, wars and ethnic conflicts. They have different lives, ideals and dreams but they also have a mutual dream come true – Artek, a fairy-tale for every Soviet child. But they are not children any more. Their way of thinking has undergone radical changes. The last shift members bid farewell to the Soviet Union as a common home and greet each other as neighbors.
